The new GUI ;-)

Postby Radiance » Sat Oct 06, 2007 4:42 am

Here's a shot of the new GUI, it's nearly finished.

You can add and remove threads on the fly,
start, pause and 'restart' the renderer,
and more to come ;-)

I updated the code so that it builds again on Linux. Iit compiles (but lot of warnings : I'll fix that), lanuches, but seems not to be working : I can't see the framebuffer or anything changing in the GUI while rendering.

i haven't checked it in yet (the version where all the buttons work) ;-)

you should be able to see the render film display though,
but only when you use a 'multifilm' with the relevant ldr/tonemapping parameters.

change your scenefile with the infos i posted in scene file format about the new multiimage film module.

the legacy pbrt film module does'nt know about the required framebuffer and ldr tonemapping.

As I can see You used some of icons I made for Blender...
Maybe You'd like to have some more to be made especially for Luxrender?
;)

Hey jendrzych!,

Did you make them ?

They're really nice,
i use them in my blender config all the time ;-)

if you want to help us with some custom lux icons,
i will be happy to credit you in the 'about' of the help menu in the GUI.

That would be awesome ! ;-)

If you're interested, let me know and i'll see if I can make up a list of which icons we need altogether ;-)

If the fact that it would be continuation of the style of icons used so far is acceptable, I'm waiting for the list...

i'll mail you a list in 1-2 days...

Do you have much experience with GUI design altogether ?

To be quite honest I don't have such experiences as developing specific software GUI, but being an practicing architect and graphic design hothead I could ring true saying that I have practice with "designing interfaces for human kind" in general. 8-)
