thank you for the prompt reply.
I understand the limited time each individual has in producing open source material. No one is making money off of this. To this I say "thank you!" Until I get 10.5 I won't be able to join the community. Hopefully in due time I can learn it well enough to do lots of testing, user samples for the gallery, and features requests to further the community.
I have seen luxRender threads with some very, very nice looking renders. I have an employer wanting to freelance my talents and I think luxRender seems to be the way to go. I should probably ask this in another thread but as far as luxRender vs. Mental Ray, how do they compare against eachother? I see that a lot of options that mental ray has luxrender has also, in which I'm very pleased with. Aside from that, Mental Ray also thinks that everyone is a C++ genius and that we can all code our own shaders. They have a nice Arch texture but the options are a little limited.
Reply if you want, if not, I'm going to make another thread I think.
