In that case I'd suggest 2560x1440, although 2560x1600 might be nicer for the lucky ones who still work on 16:10. :)

Whoops, meant 1440, typo. :P

Here's a tweaked version of the lxs file. Changes are as follows:

-Resolution changed to 2560x1440
-EXR Output enabled, in case we want to go all HDR on this later
-Write intervals increased to something that won't drag the render down with 4 megapixel images (1 hour for FLM, 30 minutes of EXR/PNG)
-IES path is now relative, it will look for it in the same directory as the lxs
-Write FLM direct is disabled, this will increase RAM use, you might want to re-enable it if you have problems

Are we good to render this one?

vortex_widesreen.Scene.00000.lxs

(drop the folder from the initial scene .rar and the IES file in the same directory as this .lxs)

EDIT: Everyone render with latest weekly/trunk/1.0RC1, ok?

Is that something luxblend should do? Maybe mines a bit broken like the rest of my laptop?

It's not a problem, you can simply put all resource files in the same directory as LXS file -- if Lux can't find a file in the specified location, it tries to look for it in the scene dir.

Quick tonemapping test with luminance (about 250spp, scaled down after tonemapping):
