Cornell Box

Postby A-man » Sat Feb 04, 2012 2:08 am

13 days later...

I've reached a total of approximately 100k s/p on this image. I used greycstoration to touch up the noise slightly, and GIMP for the aliasing of the light's reflection. I am pleased with the results.

EDIT: A big thanks to Zeealpal, Sprocket, Neo2068, for samples, and LordCrc for samples as well as a customized version of Luxrender with a scene-specific 700% speed increase!!

Indeed! Love the result and begging for a higher resolution. :)

So how was Lux modified then?

Regardless, looks good!

Perhaps in the future if LordCrc doesn't mind me redistributing his version of Luxrender, and the community helps out, I'll do a higher res version. LordCrc claimed as high as a 1500% speed boost, so I'm sure the samples would only take 3-4 days worth of rendering from 3 or 4 computers. :)

amazing! But, damn!, 13 days for a small image even with a 700% performance enhacement?

anyway, amazing. Those caustics under water emanating from the ball, are they really media-based or just post-production?
