Time's stuck (A Slow Day WIP)

Postby B.Y.O.B. » Fri Feb 24, 2012 6:30 am

Hi,

don't know if the title is the best, maybe something else will come to my mind... but let's see.
So basically I will just post some images here from time to time, I don't want to tell you that much about the whole scene.
In my mind it's relatively complete :)

First, some rather bad topology:

I like where you are going if that is in the direction of snail-time 8-)

The mind would not work without time and memory of time so that imo in turn means time is effected by the mind, its easy to assume that a snail lives in slow time, so does a sloth I guess but a snail does not require fur ;)

This seems like a promising direction so far.

But maybe snails are thinking fast, and the whole world seems slow for them (and they don't think they move at all) :)

I'm afraid from the screenshots you've provided I have to disagree, Your topology is very efficient and looks really rather clean. Granted some of the polygons have a not so pretty shape but they are the most efficient shape for the surface In my opinion.
I really can't wait to see this textured and rendered.
I'd like to see it munching on a leaf on someone's prized rosebush if I'm honest.

Thanks for the kind words.
I'm afraid the progress won't stay as fast as it was until now, my holidays are over ;)

Fruit flies and humming birds must have really fast time perception, and i heard somewhere that normal flies can see in hundreds of fps as opposed to us at around 60 and that's why they can easily dodge your hand if you go to hit them

And why they think human TV is awful. Why are there so many blank bits?

Hi,

made a stone texture today... little test with loop displacement (375S/p):

Somehow blurry, maybe the scale is a bit wrong, don't know... need to test further.
Now let's sculpt a displacement/normal map for this damn snail :)
