try putting your nkdata file in c:\ just for a test :)

nope same problem:

2008-Jun-27 19:44:07 Warning: (0) Metal 'c:au.nk' not found, using default (aluminum).

here is the blend file as well as the au.nk file.


also as note Blender crashes upon quitting it ???

This is probably unrelated to your problem but I noticed your nk file is actually a html file. :D
After leaving only the data in the file, no more errors showed up here.

Have you tried putting double slashes "\\" in the path? Maybe the parser is parsing too much? :?

ops! indeed - I just downloaded the nk file from the web but did not open it.

what would be a good place for nk files?

You could download Indigo and/or the Maxwell demo and use the included files for example. ;o))

From your first post I think you might have more luck doubling the backslashes: C:\\Documents & settings\\...

You're very welcome mate! And just to give you a hint where they come from ... go to sopra-sa.com
As you will see, you have to create a free account to get access - that's new somehow. So the easiest way is
to go with Indigo's database and/or Maxwell's. Have fun playing! ;o)
