You could also use a bilerp or blender_blend instead of an imagemap gradient.png ;)

Once we'll have local object coordinates, then procedural textures will be as useful as UV-mapped ones. :P Doug, by the way, nice userpic. :)

No, actually I was aiming for the effect of molten marbles cooling off on a production line. They start off orange hot, but eventually gradiate through red and then to black, and the red is somewhat clear, yet emissive. Sorry to go a little off topic.

Something that has been bothering me for awhile.....why doesn't Lux have a glossy-translucent material? If nothing else, it would be a nice time saver to not have to resort to a matte-translucent/glossy mix for things like skin. If there is a good reason and I'm just ignorant (not unlikely), please enlighten me.

Hi,
I'm sorry if already evalued, but my english is very bad.
1. A single, simple, automatic file for the resume.
2. Multilayer texture with blend mode (add, multiply, overlay...) for create textures without complex MIX materials.

It's a bit unclear what you mean. How does this differ from the current resume file? In what way is the current system lacking?

Good idea.
May contain traces of nuts.

Indeed. The scale texture already exist, I think this behaves as the multiply blend mode. It would be very sweet if it was extended to support multiple slots (or is nesting sufficient?) and multiple operations.

Ok, here's one: Multiple camera's per scene.
The camera's would be rendered simultaneously sharing light paths and memory. Useful for walkthrough animations, archviz with multiple pov's, 3d stereo, etc.

Really can't tell if it's feasible or possible, but in my ill-informed mind it would sound like quite a speed up for walkthroughs if them paths are reused across several frames.

tomorrow I will add the feature request to the poll!

@newsarm2
1. A single, simple, automatic file for the resume

do you mean a single one... file with geometry, material, camera and the flm file?

for me it's a to big file.... corruption is possible while saving, to much diverse information!
why not a flm-zip file with all necessary files packed in it?

Multilayer texture with blend mode will added to the poll!

@thomas
Multiple camera's per scene... nice idea... I had read about it on the Italian Maxwell forum years a go! they said this is a waste of time... since each camera must rendered apart! there is no time winning...
for example with smallLuxGpu if you telnet camera changes... the render restart... I think that the alternative could be a rendering feature that could compute light interaction in the full scene, save this info in a file that can be loaded to share it with all others cameras at rendering time!

that's an biased technique used from vray and also from Mentalray, you can create irradiance map, photon map, light-cache map, etc., to use to speed up rendering time for still and movie! the maps are created from the merge o multiples camera views. the material in the scene is a simple white-gray matte material!

as always this is just my though, please correct me if I'm wrong!
comments are welcome! so to understand if the commented feature can be add to poll!
