very interesting :)

I am not sure how to calibrate the scope of your request in relation to my own work so forgive me if I am being "dumb..." ;)

Are you looking for architectural scenes and/or objects?

I did a rendering in a attempt to recreate a certain style of Korean ceramics, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseon_White_Porcelain.

here is the finished piece: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1172

I would be happy to make the scene public domain and donate it if you are interested.

I found it a interesting problem and in the end had to literally simulate the glaze using two meshes. a inner mesh of clay and a outer of "glass" etc, the crackle is produced by flaws resulting from the reduction firing which I tried to simulate by modulating IOR.

But I am far from a good modeler imo so there might be flaws in the model that make it not of the quality level expected in relation to SIGGRAPH. I used a "studio" HDRi light map. and the cloth in the model has no thickness, just a plane. Also the "clay" uses Oren-Nayar.

If you do want to use it I might be able to fix several of the above issues and change the lighting etc then post the .zip here.

Anyway, I really just wanted to say Good Luck.

After more mails it seems they're now applying the algorithm onto the lux sources to render the scenes :)
So you can basically submit any scene :)

I've sent 3 scenes to them.

If the proof-of-concept realization of this paper would make it directly into the Luxrender source and be also released as usual, this would be great :D

Congrats to some state-of-the-art update of a new approach!

btw: is there any preprint or something like this available for this paper??

Do we get a copy of the paper when it's done? :?
Cheers!

afaik every paper that gets accepted by siggraph (and the most others) gets available to the public!

Check out this link for the most up-to-date paper catalog!
No siggraph 2009 stuff available atm :/

Here is the Moon Jar scene and blend file...
http://www.carbonflux.org/Luxrender/Moon.jar.zip - I release all ownership rights to this version and submit it into the public domain.

I am hosting it on my site because its a little big to upload here I thought ( 9 meg, ) I also modified the scene so it has no external dependencies such as uv textures or light maps, its a enclosed box using blackbody lights. This scene took a Really long time to clear around the inner lip of the jar and on the foreground in front, where you would expect really. Its kind of a brutal scene. :)

I've pm'ed the email adresses to send to to a few regulars,

Thank you :) I will send any others to the email address.
I am posting it here because I said above I would release it into the public domain in case anyone else wants to use the model etc :)

Best Regards.

Hi all,

I've deleted all posts from the authors of the siggraph paper in this thread as they have requested it:

We submitted the SIGGRAPH paper on Tuesday. Thank you very much
for helping ***removed*** with a lot of the technical details. A lot of people
sent us scenes, and we ended up using several of them in the final draft.
It will now enter the anonymous review process, where it will remain for
a few months. I will let everyone know if it gets accepted.

Since the review process NEEDS to be anonymous, no reviewer can know who
the authors are. Because we talk about LuxRender in the paper, it is
natural that some of the reviewers will go to your website and look in
your forum and find my post, thereby making the connection between
our paper and us which is not supposed to happen. Therefore, is it
possible that you delete my post? That would be the appropriate thing
to do, so that the submission remains truly anonymous.

Thanks again for all your help!

Let's hope they get accepted :)

Greetz,
