+! for getting the problems and answers out in the open ;)

I feel guilty as being the OP, I suddenly had to deal with another project and haven't had a chance to try hair in Luxrender.
I should have time to look into this again soon though.

As an aside, are there any images online that show successfully rendered hair in Lux?

I've used hair systems in group or object mode a couple other times. The towel here is probably my favorite:

Ooh! Thanks for the examples J the Ninja. The towel in that pic is pretty interesting to me as I have started a Blender scene that has a character wearing an old fashioned terry toweling diaper.
