The right location is described here: http://www.luxrender.net/wiki/LuxBlend_ ... structions.

Somehow, it seems you put LuxBlend in a folder called "presets", that is not the right location.

If i select an engine i get this error-message 2 posts ago. I have the newest Blender 2.57b and the newest Luxrender 0.8RC3 OpenCL. I put the engines in the right order. Can some one send me the link to the latest engine builds? It seems that the old one dont work...

The presets are now in the regular luxblend25 repo! They are seperate from the main scripts, since they need to go in a seperate directory. But when you grab a zip of luxblend25 or update it, you should now have an src/presets folder containing a folder called "luxrender". If you don't have any Lux presets made already, just toss this into your presets directory in Blender scripts, see the first page for details.

Oh, and there is a "path photon" one now too.

I just pushed 2 new presets, both intended for animation use. They'll auto-set to internal mode and set haltspp as well. There's a biased one (LD + expm, 128spp) and an unbiased one (LD + bidir, 256spp). The unbiased one is about 2-3x slower, but avoids the smeary caustics and occasional funny lighting that the biased one has.

Hi J the Ninja,

I'm using now your Engine preset for Animation (biased), I only switched to External to tweak the lights.
I have a hemi with hdr and a light plane, both with its own lightgroup.
In Luxrender GUI the groups controls are present, but the former, associated to the plane, is drawing the hemi light instead, and the latter does nothing, so that the sun doesn't work at all. All was ok with other settings.
But maybe you are aware of it, so you put to internal rendering, if so then forget me.

Internal rendering was just to make things easier for batch runs (btw, the haltspp setting also assumes you are using internal, since pylux doesn't wait for a safe stop when reaching haltspp, external does)

The light groups issue is unrelated, double check that you have assigned all your light groups correctly in each lights' lamp panel.

just switched back to internal and the plane light works again, then no errors on assigning I guess.

I don't understand sorry.

Edit: I'm just seeing that internal (with animation biased setting) doesn't save any Flm, but the option is on on camera panel...

Yes, because the animation preset disables write to disk. Those two presets are meant for running Blender from the command line, because that is by far the sanest way to do an animation render. They're also meant to allow a minimum of configuration. You're supposed to select them, then just run Blender in batch mode.

I'm not used to make animations, so my opinion doesn't' matter, but I find frustrating that whatever setting i choose, I get just half of what I need, remember, I'm working on merging FLM, not animation.
Some options (actived) on the Gui are contradictory, though, IMHO.

Thank you,
pablo

The presets are merely suggested settings, they are simply scripts that configure the render panel's settings. You are always free to modify after the fact, I usually do.
